  I am going to write a balanced review as a prior employee and someone who still has insurance (for now) with this agency. PROS: This is a local and independent insurance agency and they will find you the cheapest rate out of a handful of insurance companies they write for. They do a pretty good job of that if you have pretty basic insurance needs. Commercial Lines Agent Lori is a fantastic insurance agent, and will answer your call every time. She truly deserves a medal for her professionalism. Karl Lothschutz, the owner, is a stand up guy and donate quite a bit of money to local organizations. He knows insurance through and through and is excellent at providing customer service. CONS: This agency is run by Karls children, and terribly. They like to give the impression that Karl is still working because of his reputation, but he is 78 and in poor health, so he only comes in to pretend to still be at the helm. The Personal Lines agents (all 2 of them) are overwhelmed with clients and policies, and so they perform terribly. When you call to make changes to your policy (i.e. add a vehicle, delete a vehicle, put your cycle in storage, or even just to ask them to reduce coverage or deductibles for a cheaper rate) they will avoid you AT ALL COSTS. They lose a lot of business because of they cannot keep people satisfied after the initial purchase of a policy. One of the two agents (Amanda) is literally one of the worst employees I have ever seen in my life. Her ethics as an agent are pretty terrible, and no joke.. I have heard her tell clients to f*#k off on the phone because they were upset about her avoiding their calls. They have had a number of Errors and Omissions claims (when an agent makes a mistake and it costs the policy holder), all due to insufficient training and staffing. For as much money is being thrown their way in commissions, they are shamefully cheap on the staffing front and it truly costs the policy holders good service. At the end of the day, every comp[any has its issues, but this one will only get worse. When Karl dies ( at his age its quite probable) this place will most likely fall apart. As a consumer, you have to be able to balance costs and service. Doty can find okay rates. Everyone wants super cheap insurance. I do. But do you want to sacrifice prompt, professional service? If the answer is no, find another agency.
